Symbolism in film - THE MATRIX
- “Neo” is an anagram for “one” as in The One who will bring peace.
- Morpheus, the one who brings Neo to reality shares the same name as the god of dreams.
- The ship they live on is called “The Nebuchadnezzar” which is also the name of a king who could not find anyone to interpret his dreams except a servant of god. In the film the ship searches for this messiah like figure to liberate humanity from a dream world which only he can free.
